Minn Kota PowerDrive Questions

Q: Can the mega live 2 connect to the power drive trolling motor?

A. There are no provisions on the Powerdrive model for installing forward facing transducers such as MEGA Live 2.

Q: does the anchor setting work without being hook to a fish finder

A. PowerDrive trolling motors equipped with the Advanced GPS Navigation System can be used as a stand-alone system or networked with select Humminbird graphs. This PowerDrive item# 1358451 comes with the Micro Remote which has the Spot-Lock feature included.

Q: Will this work with a hummingbird 899 HD sonar gps

A.  There are several Humminbird fish graphs compatible with the Dual Spectrum CHIRP (DSC) built-in transducer, along with the Advanced GPS Navigation System for Networking. Please refer to the compatibility charts for Advanced GPS and Dual Spectrum CHIRP using the web address provided below.  https://minnkota.johnsonoutdoors.com/us/support/compatibility

Q: Will spotlock work on this model without being connected to a fish finder?

A. PowerDrive trolling motors equipped with the Advanced GPS Navigation System can be used as a stand-alone system or networked with select Humminbird graphs. This PowerDrive item# 1358451 comes with the Micro Remote which has the Spot-Lock feature included.

Q: Minn Kota® PowerDrive™ 24V, 70-lb. (31.75 kg) thrust, 60" (1.52 m) shaft, foot-control trolling motor, came with my 2025 TargaV19 Tracker boat. As it comes with the foot pedal, can I buy a remote to use?

A. There may be an upgrade kit available for a remote, depending on the generation of the PowerDrive. Please submit a Help Request through the web address below along with your motor's serial number. Our Customer Support Representatives can further assist in determining if this motor is upgrade-compatible.

Q: Can I integrate the 1358452 Power Drive with a humminbird Xplore at the helm and use the trolling motors built in transducer with a basic Helix chirp sonar at the bow ?

A.  Yes, PowerDrive item# 1358452 can be networked with a Humminbird XPLORE graph and utilize a second compatible Humminbird Graph to read the built-in DSC (Dual Spectrum CHIRP) transducer.

Q: Is it possible to have a mega live transducer mounted on the shaft and it deploy and stowaway

A. At this time we unfortunately don't have any provisions for attaching forward facing sonar, such as MEGA Live, to the Powerdrive model.

Q: can you use a wireless foot control with advanced gps in a power drive

A. We currently do not produce a wireless foot pedal as described. Unfortunately the previous Co-Pilot Powerdrive wireless pedal is not compatible with Advanced GPS.

Q: We just bought one and it bounces hard when we are driving. What will stop this?

A. If running in rough water conditions or trailering on rough roads it would be recommended a stabilizer kit be installed such as the MKA-60.

Q: How much does the 54” shaft, 55lb thrust motor weigh?

A. PowerDrive models manufactured with 55lbs thrust and a 54" shaft weight 44lbs.

Q: I just bought a PowerDrive 55/MR, not with the DSC. It’s probably a stupid question but I haven’t been able to find an answer yet, with this model and the OneBoat App will I be able to use “Go to” , “Follow contour” and plot multiple points to follow?

A.  Follow the Contour using the One Boat Network App allows contour navigation on all Humminbird LakeMaster, CoastMaster, and AutoChart ZeroLine charts. The 'Go To' feature can take you to a Spot-Lock, use AutoPilot, or engage in Drift and does not need a networking Humminbird for those features. See the One Boat Network App Operation Guide for further details using the web address below. https://johnsonoutdoors.widen.net/content/k5oftgxmfg/pdf/532866-2EN_A-One-Boat_Network_App_Operations_Guide.pdf

Q: Can you use follow a contour with a powerdrive with the one boat network through the app?

A. Follow the Contour cannot be activated from the One Boat Network App and will need a connected, networking Hummind. Follow the Contour using the One Boat Network App allows contour navigation on all Humminbird LakeMaster, CoastMaster, and AutoChart ZeroLine charts. Once connected to a networking Humminbird, the App can then control the direction of travel, the contour offset, and disengage the command. See Humminbird's manuals to learn more about Follow the Contour.
