ACR 9490.1 Hydro Release is a precision-built, water-activated release unit designed to safeguard your EPIRB deployment. When submerged in water between 5 and 13 feet (1.5–4 m), the HydroFix™ mechanism disengages the release rod, enabling the Category 1 bracket to free the EBIRB quickly and reliably. This innovative, patent-pending release rod system does not rely on a battery, a sharp blade, or a pyrotechnic device, delivering a safer, simpler, and more dependable emergency release.
