Regular replacement—at least once a year, or sooner depending on engine duty—helps protect the cooling system and prevent downtime. For installation, grease the new impeller to ease seating and provide protection during initial prime. After replacing the gasket and end cover, the pump is ready to use. For DIY replacement, you can use a Jabsco Impeller Removal Tool or channel-lock pliers to grip the hub—avoid screwdrivers to prevent damage or leaks. Carry spare impellers on board for emergencies.
