This kit is designed to deliver dependable performance across bronze flexible impeller pumps used for engine cooling, bilge, transfer and general purpose tasks. Regular replacement is recommended—at least once a year, or sooner depending on duty—and a correctly installed impeller can last for several years. For easy replacement, remove end cover screws and swap the impeller using a Jabsco Impeller Removal Tool or channel-lock pliers to grip the hub. Do not use screwdrivers, which can damage the pump face and cause leaks, especially in confined spaces. Grease the new impellers during installation to ease fitting and protect the impeller during priming. After replacing the gasket and end cover, the pump is ready to use. Maintain a preventative maintenance mindset by carrying spare impellers on board.
