Built from marine‑grade materials including AISI 316 stainless steel and chromed bronze, this fully automatic windlass is engineered to effortlessly retrieve and deploy a 10 mm (3/8") chain spliced to 16 mm (5/8") three‑strand rope or 8‑braid (plait) rope, making it ideal for demanding saltwater adventures.

Designed for easy retrofitting and versatile on virtually any boat, the RC10‑10 features a low‑profile version and a fluted stainless steel capstan drum option. It offers a simple two‑piece installation, a spacer tube design to accommodate most deck thicknesses, and multiple mounting positions with a self‑aligning gearbox to ensure optimal alignment of gearbox and motor in a wide range of installations. Full disassembly of the topworks is possible using the included handle and an Allen key, simplifying maintenance and service.

The windlass employs a heavy‑duty stainless steel pressure arm and a unique rope/chain gypsy to robustly grip the splice, delivering unmatched performance. A large, preloaded stainless steel spring and a trouble‑free bearing keep constant, smooth pressure on the rode and splice. The through‑deck hawse pipe throat is generously sized for easy entry of the rope/chain into the anchor locker. A sealed oil bath and marine‑grade hard‑anodised gearbox with worm/worm wheel gearing ensure maximum output and long service life.

This windlass is equally at home on low‑profile foredecks and can work with a variety of rode configurations. For safety, always use a chain stopper and/or snubbing device to take the load off the windlass while laying at anchor, and secure the anchor in the fully raised position when underway.
