Two essential measurements in one compact instrument
- Depth reading: As water enters the tube during descent, the trapped volume becomes a precise depth column, calibrated in feet, so you know exactly how deep you are.
- Temperature reading: A temperature plate provides close, dependable readings after a 30-second immersion.
How it works
- Attach the Deptherm to your line and let it sink to the bottom or any intermediate depth.
- Hold there for 30 seconds, then surface. Read depth on the top of the water column and temperature off the temperature plate.
- Invert the instrument and press the valve to release water. Shake until all water is expelled before reuse.
- Downrigger application: Clip the Deptherm Model 104 to your downrigger ball to monitor water temperature and depth at the rig. Note that temperature readings will lag 1–2 minutes while the ball is raised.
