The Victron Cable f/Smart BMS CL 12-100 to MultiPlus is the essential link that lets Smart BMS CL 12-100 and small BMS units control a range of Victron MultiPlus inverters/chargers—even when VE.Bus isn’t present. Designed for versatility, this cable supports MultiPlus models from 500VA up to 1600VA, MultiPlus Compact 800VA–2kVA, and MultiPlus-II, enabling seamless remote on/off control through the appropriate outputs.
Compatibility and control at a glance
- Enables control of MultiPlus models from BMS outputs (Load/Disconnect on the Smart BMS CL 12-100 or Load/Charger on the small BMS).
- Wiring varies by model:
- MultiPlus 500VA–1200VA: black wire to the ON terminal; red wire to the (+) terminal.
- MultiPlus Compact 800VA–2kVA: black wire to the middle terminal; red wire to the right (IN) terminal.
- MultiPlus-II: black wire to the lower (-) terminal; red wire to the upper (+) remote on-off terminal.
- The Load/Charge Disconnect outputs (Smart BMS CL 12-100) and Load/Charger outputs (small BMS) must be in the High state for the MultiPlus to operate.
- After shutdown due to low battery voltage, run the alternator or use a battery charger on the primary side of the BMS to reset the system. The MultiPlus will then switch on and start charging if connected to an AC power source.
