Meet the Victron Orion-TR DC-DC Converter, a compact isolated power module that converts 48 VDC input to 24 VDC output at up to 16 A (380 W nominal, 430 W at 25°C). Built for reliability in demanding environments, it provides true galvanic isolation between input and output, reducing ground loop issues and protecting sensitive electronics.
Key benefits
-
Isolated and paralleled capable: galvanic isolation and an unlimited number of units can be connected in parallel to increase output current.
-
Remote On/Off: Separate minus (-) leads and a remote on/off terminal that eliminates the need for a high-current switch in input wiring; control via a low-power switch or engine run/stop switch.
-
Robust protection: high-temperature protection with current derating; IP43 protection when terminals are oriented downward; short-circuit protected (40 A peak).
-
Flexible output: adjustable output voltage from 20 to 30 V with a nominal 24.2 V, tolerance ±0.2 V, and low noise (2 mV rms).
-
Durable, easy to install: screw terminals (no special tools), input fuse on 12V/24V models (non-replaceable), compact 130 x 186 x 70 mm, 1.6 kg.
Note: This converter is not intended for battery charging. For charging applications, Victron recommends the Orion-Tr Smart series.
