Rugged construction: Aluminium epoxy powder-coated cases with a drip shield and stainless steel fixings resist heat, humidity, and salt air. Circuit boards are protected with an acrylic coating for maximum corrosion resistance, and built-in temperature sensors help keep power components within safe limits by automatically reducing output current when needed.

Flexible charging control: In addition to a CAN bus (NMEA2000) interface, a rotary switch, DIP switches, and potentiometers are available to tailor the charge algorithm to your battery and usage. Refer to the manual for full configurability.

Synchronized parallel operation: Several Skylla-i units can be synchronized via the CAN bus by interconnecting them with RJ45 cables (note: two-output and three-output chargers cannot be paralleled with each other).

Smart charging for lead-acid: Variable absorption time adapts to discharge depth—short for shallow discharges to prevent overcharging, longer after deep discharges to ensure a full recharge.

BatterySafe mode: Prevents damage from excessive gassing by automatically limiting the rate of voltage increase once the gassing voltage is reached.

Storage mode: If the battery remains undischarged for 24 hours, float voltage is reduced to 2.2V per cell (26.4V for 24V batteries) to minimize gassing and corrosion; once a week, voltage is raised back to absorption level to refresh the battery and prevent stratification and sulfation.

Temperature compensation: A built-in battery temperature sensor ensures charge voltage decreases with rising temperature, extending life for sealed lead-acid batteries and when temperature varies.

Battery voltage sense: Voltage sensing compensates for cable resistance so the battery always receives the correct charge voltage.
